Independence Veterinary Hospital

New Client and Patient Policy

It is our desire to provide our clients and their pet(s) with quality, personalized service. Some of our clients have been with us for over 30 years. In order to provide our clients with the level of service that they deserve, our illness visits are reserved for Established, Active clients and their pet(s).

Established, Active clients are those clients who maintain and keep current their pet's preventative health care (Core Vaccinations, Heartworm Testing and Heartworm Preventative [dogs] and regularly-scheduled Preventative Health Exams) through Independence Veterinary Hospital.

We have considered deeply the criteria to take on new clients and patients and have found that the preventative care visits are the key in forming long-lasting, personalized relationships with our clients and patients. Preventative care visits are where we start the process of building those long-term relationships.

In order to become an Established, Active client, please call and speak to a Staff Member when your pet is due for its next preventative care visit. A copy of your pet's medical care records from your current primary-care veterinarian, that illustrates current medical, surgical, and preventative care through that veterinarian, will be requested. Your current veterinarian must be a full-service veterinarian. Dr. Jatsek will review your pet's records and determine if our Hospital is a good fit and can provide the care that you and your pet(s) will require. Once reviewed and, if accepted, a Staff Member will contact you regarding your pet's needs. To maintain an Established, Active client status, your pet's preventative health care (Core Vaccinations, Heartworm Testing and Heartworm Preventative [dogs] and regularly-scheduled Preventative Health exams) must be kept current through Independence Veterinary Hospital.

Independence Veterinary Hospital is a small, one-doctor practice. We keep it small, on purpose. We are not a high-volume, quick in-and-out veterinary hospital. We prefer to develop and celebrate the long-term relationship with a client and their pet(s). For this reason, there may be periods of time where new clients and patients are not being accepted.
